"For the second time in four years, the Summit Lady Jaguar basketball team ended their season as state champions.
The Lady Jags defeated the Rockwall Lady Yellow Jackets 45-42 in the 4A State Championship game.

Maya Hawkins, who missed the final two weeks of the regular season and the Jaguars' first three playoff games with an ankle injury, won tournament MVP honors by scoring a team-high 19 points.
